The members of the SHEILA team organized a policy briefing for the senior leaders in Scottish higher education at the University of Edinburgh on May 2, 2016. The briefing was organized in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) in Scotland. The briefing specifically targeted the members of the Scottish Higher Education Enhancement Committee (SHEEC) and attracted almost 50 participants from almost all Scottish universities. The program of the briefing featured the keynotes by George Siemens (University of Texas Arlington), Niall Sclater (Jisc) and Ryan Baker (Teachers College, Columbia University) as well as a panel discussion the three learning analytics service providers Civitas Learning, Desire2Learn and Blackboard.
